OM Power OM-1700A+ HF Automatic Amplifier, 1700 Watt is a lightweight and compact 1700 W class automatic PA that can also be used remotely. The 4CX1500B ceramic tetrode provides sufficient power on shortwave and 6 m in all situations, whether SSB, CW or RTTY. To drive it, a normal transceiver with transmission power from 40 to 60W is sufficient. The PA can be used on all bands from 160 to 6 m, including the WARC bands.

The special feature of the OM-1700A+ power amplifier is its fully automatic operation. There is no longer any need to tune the circuits: the PA measures the transmit frequency and adjusts automatically. This happens very quickly: in the same band in about 0.5 seconds, when changing bands in about 3 seconds. This fully automatic operation doesn't even require a CAT connection! Of course, all common HF transceivers can be connected via CAT, further simplifying the operation of the station. Another connection can be made via Ethernet to the local network. This way you can monitor and control the power amplifier from a remote computer.

Like all OM-Power power amplifiers, the OM-1700A+ is equipped with all the usual safety mechanisms, such as protection against high SWRs, filament current or voltage failures, mains current or voltage failures, temperature, case opening and much more. An error memory helps in subsequent diagnosis. The 4.3" color display shows the operating status very clearly at all times. The display also acts as the (only) control element (touch display). The connection to the power supply is via a 230 V cable; the absorbed power is approximately 3kVA.
