The famous and well known universally known rotors for antennas up to 2 m 2 of surface to the wind. {
Hygain antenna rotors are built with double or triple ball bearings to have the maximum stability and mechanical electro brakes that block the mechanism, preventing the antenna with strong wind. When the antenna revolves, the brake opens automatically and closes again (late) after it has reached the predetermined final position. {
The rotors are designed for installation on a flat surface (platform for rotors), for installation on the top of a mast there are optional brackets. In the merger of aluminum, with precision sphere beads, all in stainless steel. The maximum diameter for the MAST is 52mm. {
The rotors are available with two different control units:
The analog unit has buttons for the direction and brake and an analogue tool illuminated for direction control. {
In addition, the opposite direction is displayed, from the station received to yours, together with your indicative. To facilitate reading, a blue LCD with white characters is used, the size is 35 x 66 mm. DCU-3 is a digital control unit for Hygain rotors such as Ham IV, T2X Tailwister, etc. The pointing management (in degrees) is displayed on a large LCD display together with its compass rapresentation. {
To obtain a precise and secure rotation also of large antennas systems, the DCU-3 controller uses various positioning methods. A brake, as it is also used on other rotors, is released and activated again only when reaching the final position. The engine is stopped slightly before reaching the desired position in order to reduce efforts to the rotor and antennas. {
The DCU-3 control unit is provided with both serial interface and USB interface to allow easy integration of the rotor to the station. The rotor can be controlled directly by programs such as Ham Radio Deluxe or similar. The size of the DCU-3 are 215 x 110 x 228 mm (LXAXP).
there are two models:
