The Flex-6400 is a 100W HF transceiver for short wave bands from 160 to 10m, plus the 6m band. Two completely independent receivers are available, an important prerequisite for working in split mode or for observing other bands and modes during a race. Full Duplex Crossband operation is also possible. {

Receivers are designed as direct sampling SDR receivers. The sampling frequency used is 122.8 MHz, the AD converter has a 16 -bit word size. The result is an excellent 115 dB RMDR value (after 2 KHz). As a visible result of this high -end digital technology, the user has a spectrum width of up to 7 MHz, more than enough to simultaneously observe several amateur radio bands. The receiver frequency range ranges from 30 kHz to 54 MHz, the transmitter is limited to amateur radio bands. The pre -selector with 3 -pole -band filters provides excellent selectivity of the large signal. A low noise oscillator contributes significantly to the receiver's good data. For exceptionally high needs, a 10 MHz reference clock entry is available, which can be piloted by an optional GPSDO. For the friends of the VHF bands, a transversal exit and an RX input are available, which allows you to operate on higher bands with an external transverter. {

The transmitter of the Flex-6400 offers a transmission power of 100W (PEP, 25W AM), the suppression of unwanted by-products is better than 60dbc. The transversal output can be set from 0 to +10 DBM. The transmitter is limited to the radio amateur bands provided in the respective region. The integrated antenna tuner can adjust a misalignment up to a 3: 1 switch. {

As for all Flexradio transceivers, the main objective is the ease of use of the remote control. The Flex-6400 can be used with any Windows, iPhone or iPad PC. In addition, the master console is available which can access the transceiver via Wlan or the wired Ethernet. The "SmartSdr" software in version 3 offers a special feature: the 'Multiflex' function offers the possibility of using a 6000 series transceiver with a second user simultaneously.This makes the "multi-op/single-raio" functioning operation, even on long distances.

The control panel is equipped with a brilliant touch screen with 1920x1200 pixel resolution. Through this screen you can access a wide range of functions, such as the setting of the frequency or selection of the operating mode. Traditional commands are deliberately positioned at large distances on the front panel for easy and clear operation even in frantic race situations. The fact that almost all these buttons have a single function contributes to making the functioning of the flexradio transceivers very clear and easy to learn.

This remote control can be carried out through the local network of a building, but also via the internet at a great distance. With the latest V3 version of the Smartsdr software it is also possible to use a transceiver with two remote operators simultaneously.
