Acom L-PROT 2000 Lightning protection lightning protection device for TX/RX systems in the frequency range from 1.8 to 54 MHz and with power up to 2 kW. This device is ideal for coaxial cables that do not carry a DC power supply.
Effective protection for your system
The L-PROT 2000 offers much more than just lightning protection:
Neutralizes static charges on the antenna and reduces interference (for example, from wind, rain or snow).
Prevents direct current flows between input and output to avoid damage.
The integrated spark gaps also protect against nearby lightning strikes. These massive surge arresters are more durable than traditional gas surge arresters.
Simple installation and operation
The device is bidirectional, so that the input and output can be used in the same way. Both ports are labeled identically (“IN/OUT”) and can be used flexibly. A wing nut grounding connection allows for a reliable connection to the building earth. The ideal would be to install it outside the cabin, for example in an electrical cabinet or protected from the elements on the external wall of the building, near the lightning earthing.
How does L-PROT 2000 work?
Lightning generates electromagnetic pulses, the energy of which is mainly in the LW/VLF range. The L-PROT 2000 effectively attenuates these low-frequency components and completely blocks direct current pulses. The massive air spark gaps limit the voltage in an emergency and withstand even multiple strikes.
The advantages at a glance:
Protection against electrostatic charges, direct current and lightning
Reduction of reception interference
Bidirectional use
Robust and durable design
Simple installation and safe operation
With the ACOM L-PROT 2000, you can count on reliable protection and interference-free radio operation, regardless of weather conditions!
