Grazioli MV6 40 m Upgrade Kit – Extension for the 7 MHz band

The  40m upgrade kit  allows you to easily upgrade your Grazioli MV6 antenna to the specifications of the MV7. This set expands the range of usable frequencies to include the 40m band (7 MHz), making the MV6 fully equivalent to the more recent MV7 version.

The kit includes an elongated radiator section with integrated coil and capacitive hat, which turns the central radiator into a dual band element (40m + 20m). It also integrates the patented DBFC (Dual Band Folded Counterpoise) system, which uses a flexible stainless steel wire connected to one of the existing radials. This creates a dual frequency counterweight that tunes the 40m band without the need for additional radials.

The kit is supplied complete with all the components needed for quick and easy installation, including fittings, stainless steel screws and clamps. No mechanical modification of the MV6 antenna is required and assembly can be done easily with the materials and instructions provided.

The electrical power supply remains direct (DC earthing), without an impedance transformer. After the upgrade, the antenna covers the 40, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 m bands with a typical VSWR of less than 1.5:1. The maximum power allowed is 1.5 kW PEP (SSB) on 40 m and up to 3 kW on the other bands.

From a mechanical point of view, the update maintains Grazioli quality: all components are made of aluminum AW6063-T66, stainless steel (AISI-304/316) and UV-resistant materials such as fiberglass and PTFE. The windward surface is 0.42 m² and the updated antenna resists winds up to 130 km/h (without ice).
